Counterfeit products pose a significant danger to public health and wellbeing and are a major economic threat to companies, creators, and other IP owners. Although Thailand and other Southeast Asian countries have made significant strides to combat the trade in counterfeits, threats still remain, and companies must remain vigilant to protect their reputations, intellectual assets, and the general public.

Tilleke & Gibbins—the region’s leading law firm for IP enforcement—has been on the front lines of this fight for many years. In a landmark CSR initiative, the firm exhibits seized counterfeit goods in its unique museum, designed to educate others about the damage caused by the trade in counterfeit products. The Tilleke & Gibbins Museum of Counterfeit Goods is the most comprehensive of its kind in the world, containing more than 4,000 examples of counterfeit goods, spanning a startling and unexpected range of products, from high-tech industrial equipment to every imaginable kind of consumer product.

In this private tour for the BCCT, Wiramrudee (Pink) Mokkhavesaa partner in the firm’s IP practice, will introduce the general principles of IP enforcement in Thailand before leading an eye-opening tour of the exhibits themselves, peppered with examples from her own practice. The evening will also include networking sessions in the firm’s dedicated event space, including drinks and finger food. Attendance is free of charge.
