Carbon Zero Buildings - The Nexus of Design, Renewables and Cement

Decarbonising the property sector is critical if the world is to meet the commitments of the Paris Agreement and to limit the worst effects of global warming. While much focus has been put on energy efficient design to achieve this, the fact is that low carbon buildings cannot become mainstream without the roll out of renewable and clean energy and a  major reduction in the carbon footprint of the cement industry.

In this event we will discuss what carbon zero means, with respect to buildings, the state of renewable and clean energy in the region and the prospects for decarbonising the cement industry

• Peter du Pont  (Asia Clean Energy Partners) - current status and trends in renewable energy markets in Thailand and SE Asia

• Ali Hasanbeigi  (Global Efficiency Intelligence) - decarbonisation in the cement industry and embodied carbon in construction material
