ADVOCACY

Objectives

1.    To rebuild the relationship between BCCT and the Thai government.
2.    To engage in public-private dialogue and private sector advocacy, and to influence government policies, laws, regulations, and administrative arrangements, which are or possibly affecting the business of BCCT members.
3.    To support advocacy activity opportunities in social, economic, and political, particularly in the Thai economy and Thai-UK trade, investment, and FTA negotiations.

Plans in 2026

  • Tentative July: UK-Thailand Investment Conference: BOI Secretary-General, Mr. Narit Therdsteerasukdi for keynote and updates on new investment measures and the upcoming citizenship by investment (CBI), followed by BOI clinic
  • Tentative May: Meeting with Revenue Department DG, Excise Department DG, Customs Department DG
  • Tentative May-June: PM congratulatory visit at the Parliament House led by UK Ambassador, Minister of Commerce, Labour, MHESI congratulatory visit
  • Tentative June (in honour of World Environmental Day):Co-organise Women in Sustainability event with Women in Business Group
  • Tentative October: Keynote by Minister of Commerce at UK-Thailand Trade Show

One possible added activity suggested is adding activities that reflect British Culture and fund-raising open to members and public:-
